Our mission

Investing still intimidates a great many people: too much jargon, too many products, too many promises. Épargna exists to remove that barrier and help everyone invest their money while understanding what they are doing. We explain the basics, we compare the offers on your behalf, and we show you where to start — so that you decide with your eyes open, at your own pace.

Our goal fits in one sentence: to help you grow your money while understanding your choices. That runs through diversification — spreading your savings across banking, markets, crypto or property according to your profile and your time horizon, rather than putting everything in one place — and through decisions you actually understand, one step at a time.

This mission rests on four pillars:

Education first

Jargon-free guides, designed as a path: short steps so you can move forward calmly, one idea at a time.

Start learning

An honest comparison tool

Independent rankings following a published methodology. No brand buys its place or its rating.

Our method

Diversify to reduce risk

Reference points for spreading your savings — banking, markets, crypto, property — according to your time horizon and your risk tolerance, rather than putting everything in one place.

Compare the offers

Free, and funded openly

Declared affiliate links and community donations: what we receive goes into enriching the guides and the comparison tool.

Our transparency

Education first

At Épargna we never push you to “invest first, understand later”. It is the other way round: learn first, then act. Our guides start from zero and explain, without shortcuts, what risk, return and time horizon actually mean.

To make that learning less dry, we designed it as a path: short steps, a progression you can follow, and a few playful markers to help you keep your bearings. The point of that gamification is not to make you play, but to help you move forward calmly, one idea at a time.

Where to start, depending on your level

There is no single right starting point: it depends on where you are. Here is a concrete progression, from the first euro set aside to fine-tuning your allocation.

Choose your level

Start by building an emergency fund in a safe, instantly accessible savings account (in France: Livret A, LDDS, or LEP if you qualify). First get to grips with three ideas: risk, return, time horizon.

Editorial independence, stated plainly

Our rankings are not for sale. No brand can buy its place in a comparison: the ranking follows a published methodology and the same criteria for everyone. When a product carries a risk or a limitation, we say so plainly rather than dressing it up.

How Épargna is paid

The site is free, and it will stay free. To keep going, Épargna combines two sources: partner links (affiliate marketing) and donations from the community. When you open an account or take out a product through one of our links, the partner may pay us a commission — at no extra cost to you. That payment changes neither our ranking nor our opinion: we set out exactly how the mechanism works, and its safeguards, on our transparency & affiliate marketing page.

What we receive — commissions and donations alike — serves one purpose: going out to find more offers, testing them and broadening the comparison tool to cover more needs. If Épargna is useful to you, you can help us stay independent and go further by supporting the project.

Built for the whole French-speaking world

Épargna is aimed at French speakers in France, Belgium, Switzerland and Luxembourg. Tax and regulatory rules — and the products available — differ from one country to the next: we state the scope wherever it matters, and our content stays deliberately informational and educational, never advice tailored to your situation.
